Combining fun and safety in this one-day introductory course
Level-1 provides the skill and knowledge necessary for day-long sea kayaking trips in sheltered
waters. We will discuss different kayak models and as well as general equipment. You will learn basic strokes as well as issues of mutual safety between paddling partners. A certificate of the Quebec Federation of canoeing and kayaking will be given upon successful completion of the evaluation.
A few technical objectives:
- Kayak adjustments, launching & landing
- Forward stroke, reverse stroke, stop
- Sweep & draw
- Low brace

- Injury prevention
- Safety on the water
- Wet exit

Beginner paddlers or those with no formal training
Class ratio :
Maximum of 6 participants per coach
Kayak, paddle, spray-skirt and all safety equipment. FQCK certificate.
Lunch & snacks, dry change of clothes, adequate paddling clothes for weather conditions, adequate paddling shoes.
